Organizations To Join & Support

Ocean Conservancy |

The ocean is the life support system for our planet, providing oxygen, food, and fresh water to the world. Founded in 1972, Ocean Conservancy is the world’s foremost and oldest organization working exclusively on marine conservation issues. Through science-based advocacy, research, and public education, we inform, inspire, and empower people to speak and act on behalf of the ocean. Supported by more than half-a-million members, activists, and volunteers, Ocean Conservancy advocates for concrete solutions that will bring lasting sea change for our one and only ocean.

SkyTruth |

SkyTruth uses satellite images and other remote sensing techniques to investigate, and illustrate, environmental issues and incidents. SkyTruth partners with other organizations – particularly nonprofits, academic researchers and government entities – to improve our understanding of environmental issues, focus our efforts on the most pressing concerns where imagery can shed light on the subject, and leverage our expertise with the skills and knowledge of others. They’re also seeking volunteers to join the SkyTruth revolution & will be happy to put you to work, using your talents to help us illuminate our world.

The Surfrider Foundation |

The Surfrider Foundation is a grassroots non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches for all people, through conservation, activism, research and education. We have 70 community-based chapters along all coasts of the United States.

The Surfrider Foundation is opposed to any new offshore oil drilling.

Our nation’s oceans, waves and beaches are vital recreational, economic and ecological treasures that will be polluted by an increase in offshore oil drilling.
