How Many Gallons

Q: How many gallons of oil were spilled in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill?

A: Estimates vary. Some say it’s 60 to 70 million gallons. Others say it’s 210,000 gallons a day since it blew on April 20, 2010. If the second estimate it right, and it appears that it is probably at least that much, it’s been 1,260,000 gallons to June 19, 2010. It will increase every day until the leak is capped or the water pressure becomes more than the pressure of the oil spewing out.
